Jadob Wolf on His Own

Yesterday (Feb. 10) saw the publication of Wallacetown Reckoning, the fourth book in my ongoing Western series The Travels of Jacob Wolf.

Readers of the series will remember that in Book 3, Warhorse Trail, Jacob’s bounty hunter mentor Jerome Freeman retired from the trade to settle in Cherokee Territory with his Indian bride and raise horses, leaving Jacob as a lone rider. In this book, Jacob has made his way into eastern Colorado Territory, where he finds his reputation as a fast gun arrived ahead of him.

The city fathers of Wallacetown, a small mining community, hire Jacob to rid the town of a gang of thugs and grifters. It’s more than Jacob can do alone, so he gets help from a couple of unlikely individuals.

This is the start of a new three-book story arc for Jacob Wolf. I hope readers will see him growing and maturing as a man while he deals with the bad men and harsh landscape of the Old West in these next three books.

I can’t tell how many books there’ll be in The Travels of Jacob Wolf. The opening of each book indicates Jacob lives to be an old man, but that doesn’t mean his whole life will be told. For now, I know there’ll be at least nine books in the series. Probably more.

For now, get your copy of Wallacetown Reckoning here. Or start the series with the first book, The Broken Man.

In talking about this series, I have to give a shoutout to the late, great David R. Lewis, his Trail Series was the inspiration for this series of my own. If you want to read a really good Western series, I highly recommend you listen to David’s narration of his series. Sadly, he passed before he was able to narrate the last book. He was a radio personality, among his many other jobs, and his talent in that area is put to amazing use narrating his stories of Ruben Beeler. Careful readers will find a tribute to Lewis in The Travels of Jacob Wolf.
