This afternoon was the first day of TrickConTreat. Not much happened. The opening ceremony audience was pretty small, but a lot of people who could only be associated with a horror con began showing up at the hotel a couple of hours later, so tomorrow should be more interesting. I did a video interview with DarkFaery Subculture Magazine. I don’t think the interview went well, but then, I never do. Craig Wolf was interviewed after me. Douchebag got up there and was quoting Chaucer and acting all edumacated. (He’ll know I’m joking about the douchebag.) Sarah St. John and her kids arrived later and we all went to Earl’s Barbecue for dinner. Bev Hale showed up a little while after we got back to the hotel, but I had to come home because today was pretty hectic at work and I didn’t get my story printed for tomorrow’s reading.
I’m not sure what I’ll read. I printed "Noodlers Nab Nekkid Nymphs" and "Okie Werewolf Seeks Love." I was leaning toward Okie Werewolf, especially since the book should be out in a couple of weeks, but Sarah seemed to want to hear Noodlers. I think I’ll see how much time I have left for my reading (it’s a group event), then decide which one will fit.
Time for beddy-bye-bye. I have to be back at 9 a.m. for Coffee with the Authors. If you live in the OKC metro area — hell, in Oklahoma — come on out to the con. It’ll be fun. There are several metal/goth/punk bands performing Saturday afternoon, along with all the usual kind of programming, like how to build a haunted house, how to write scary stories, how to be a horror host, etc. Dr. Fear and Count Gregore will be there. And Boobzilla will be there. You don’t want to miss that!
