First up, I called my current book Tarod in yesterday’s post. I meant The Puppet King; the main character is named Tarod.

I didn’t get to watch It’s a Wonderful LIfe last Christmas season. My heathen family hates the movie. I think it’s one of the best films ever made and, yes, I do get choked up at the end every time.

I was just reading at the Internet Movie Database that the FBI considered this film to be subversive because businessman Potter was portrayed to be so evil. How dumb is that? Now, it’s almost an un-American activity not to like this movie. Could a film be any more pro-America than this one? Well, I guess there is Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

But the Capra movie I’m really wanting to watch again is Arsenic and Old Lace. That has to be one of the funniest movies ever. Cary Grant’s facial expressions as his aunt explains that she knows there’s a body in the window seat is just priceless. I guess he thought this film was his worst performance, that he was too over the top, but I think he was perfect in it. His suave rogue roles were often pretty boring, I think.

And let’s not forget Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Meet John Doe and You Can’t Take It with You.
