In the past 10 minutes I have had three phone calls from Mick Cornett, his wife, and their daughter. All have been recordings asking me to vote for Mick in tomorrow’s run-off election for Oklahoma’s District 5 U.S. congressional Republican runoff.
Mick, I ain’t voting for you. First of all, you were just elected to your position as Oklahoma City’s mayor and you’re showing a lack of committment in your first elected term. Second, under your watch following Kirk Humphrey’s abandonment of the post, OKC lost the GM plant and Kerr-McGee. Third, and this is the real kicker, I don’t live in your freakin’ district! Stop calling me!
His Republican opponent, Mary Fallin, is smart enough not to call me, which is one more reason I hope our three-term lieutenant governor whips Mick’s butt tomorrow.
If you’re a Republican in Oklahoma, I implore you to shut Mick up tomorrow. Please. Make him stop calling me. Vote for Fallin.
Mary Fallin is one of the few Republican candidates I’ll vote for this November. For the first time in about 20 years I’ll vote Democrat for governor. And this time I don’t think I’ll regret it.
