The book is a little slow in the middle, but overall it’s an excellent read. If all you know of the story is the Will Smith movie, you don’t know anything! Pick this up and read it. Be ready for the deep irony of the ending. Then, when you read it a second time, you’ll pick up on many clues that reveal the inevitable.

I’d read this book a couple of times previously. I’ve just finished re-reading it with my four sections of English 3. Some of the kids loved it, some slept, many didn’t get it. With, umm … more motivated students I think this could have been a great book to read for the Halloween season.
