There was a bit of a mix-up at Moore Norman Technology Center. I believed I was supposed to begin teaching either The Art and Craft of Feature Writing or Newspapers to Novels in August. But when Fran called tonight to remind me of my class starting next week … she had me down for a class called Anthology Writing. Sounds interesting, but I’m certainly not qualified to teach it. So, I guess I don’t have an August class, but am slated to teach the feature writing class in September and Writing Character Driven Horror Fiction in October. Get signed up!

Have you heard about Horror Day yet? Let’s all get behind this thing and show the industry that there is still a market for horror.

“One Night in Benevolence” seems to be stuck at No. 8 on Amazon.com’s best-selling horror Shorts list. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it seems kind of odd that it would hold the same spot for so many days when the list is supposedly updated hourly.

Tomorrow is the primary elections here in Oklahoma. Lots of seats up for grabs in the state legislature, as well as the U.S. House of Reps. My vote is a throwaway for the Republican primary for governor. I’ll be voting for Brad Henry in November, and it’ll be the first time in a very long time that I’ve voted for a Democrat and not regretted it soon after, I’m sure. The other seats, well, Mick Cornett is out for our U.S. House representative. Oklahoma City lost the GM plant and Kerr McGee under his watch as mayor. I’m voting for Mary Fallen there, anyway. Some of the others … it’ll come down to whether or not I remember how many annoying phone calls I’ve picked up only to hear their damn recorded messages. Why doesn’t the do-not-call list include politicians?
