It ain’t so bad


Damn. In America we argue about things like funding faith-based programs to keep people off drugs, kids out of trouble, etc. But in Afghanistan, where our soldiers are still dying to help people who were too weak to help themselves, converting from Islam to Christianity is punishable by death. This guy was arrested for owning a Bible and it seems his best defense is to be declared mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Say what you want about the stupid Patriot Act and the anal FCC, but remember we’re nowhere near as bad off as other parts of the world.

I guess that’s all I have to say at the moment.

    Agreed. And as bad as it seems here sometimes, I’ve never lamented the fact that I live in America … only the fact that some parts of America’s inner cities are as bad off hunger- and “terrorism”-wise as some of these countries we go far and wide to “save,” and yet we don’t even come close to the same level of effort expended to help our own people.

    governments and such
    it’s true that no one should take away your human right of faith and much less your life because of it, but if he’s willing to die for his beliefs then more power to him. and yes i’m pissed that our president had the nerve to say that he was disturbed and unpleased by their governments actions towards this man. well, he should worry more about our goverments actions towards michael smith who was only sentenced to prison for six months after torturing prisoners for is own amusement at Abu Ghrai. the bastard had no regrets.
