Steven E. Wedel is the author of more than 50 published books spanning horror, literary fiction, thrillers, Westerns, and young adult and children’s literature. Best known for his slow-burn, emotionally resonant horror stories, Wedel has built a diverse and enduring catalog of dark tales that explore the supernatural, the psychological, and the human condition.

A lifelong Oklahoman, Steven’s storytelling roots go deep—shaped by careers as a machinist, journalist, corporate writer, public relations specialist, and English teacher. He holds a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma. His nonfiction work includes literary criticism, writing advice, and hundreds of articles published in newspapers and online outlets.

Though the literary fame and fortune he once dreamed of have proven elusive, Steven remains devoted to the written word. Whether crafting tales of restless spirits or rural desperation, his work reflects a love of language and a fascination with the darker sides of life.

He lives in central Oklahoma with his dogs, Bear and Sweet Pea, and Cleo the cat. When not writing, he enjoys kayaking, camping, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

If you enjoy compelling characters and stories that linger long after the last page, there’s a Steven E. Wedel book waiting for you.
