I promised myself I’d get out of bed earlier today and get to the computer before the kids were out of bed and in full nag mode. And, I’m happy to report, I actually did it. I was at the computer just a few minutes after 8 a.m. and got in two solid hours before I was pulled away for any significant length of time. Then I got in a bit more later in the morning and early afternoon. I added a complete new chapter to Bold Bounty and revised a couple of others. Look at this:
Granted, the book is written and I’m just doing a heavy revision and beefing it up, but I’ve long been fascinated by these little word meters and decided to try adding one here.
I should probably quit referring to that particular book by name. The way I understand it, men who write romance novels under pseudonymns generally sign a non-disclosure agreement saying they won’t publicly announce they are the author. So, henceforth, I will refer to Bold Bounty only as BB or “the romance novel.”
My editor at OKC Business called today and gave me three story assignments. I’ve already done some of the research and made contact with the PIO of the state office I need to contact for one of them.
Then I got a call about a job I applied for. I don’t know what the pay is for this job, but I’m very intrigued by the position. It’s in the field I want to go into. I’ll say more later. I sent my resume yesterday afternoon — by snail mail — and they called today. Tomorrow morning I go in to fill out an application and deliver my transcripts.
I heard from a couple friends from the old job today. They ain’t happy campers. The official announcement was made today about the graphic designers and Web master being moved downstairs and put under the direction of … dum, dum, duuuuuum … a friend of one of the friends hired by the VP. Hell, we’ve known that for almost two weeks.
Speaking of the old job, please send good vibes toward Kansas this weekend. My former intern, Ashlea Brack, is competing in the Miss Kansas Pageant this week. The results will be announced Sunday. Good luck, Ashlea!
