Insane, Insane Again

I didn’t set foot out of the house today. Not even to get the mail; Alex got it. I’ll really go nuts here if I don’t get a job soon. Yeah, yeah, it’s only been a couple of weeks. Ghandi would lose patience over the number of times I’ve heard a kid say s/he wanted something to eat or drink, or money for this or that.

A technical college that’s new to the OKC metro wants to do a telephone interview with me about a general education teaching position. Same kind of position but a different school than the one I interviewed with last week.

My critique group is meeting tomorrow instead of Friday. Thank God. Something to get me out of the house. I told Gayleen my goal was to give her and Paul 150 pages of BB to read. Well, I missed it by about a paragraph. I have 149 pages, with the last being nearly full. Maybe I can knock off one more chapter before the lunch meeting tomorrow.

The old word meter isn’t much different today than it was yesterday, but that isn’t to say I didn’t do much. I completely rewrote half of one chapter and did the minor revisions to a couple of others. I also did the interviews for and wrote two news articles for OKC Business today and those words (about 1,700 of them) don’t show up here.

I have to say it’s been a unique experience writing a story where the werewolf really is a monster. Even Luther McGrath had more redeeming qualities than the villain of this novel.

It’s late, and Dante awaits me. We have passed The Great Tower and are descending into the middle levels of Hell, beyond the marshes of Styx.
