If I could save time in a bottle …

Shit. Right now I’d just settle for having a bottle of rum and a quiet corner.

Another incredibly busy day at work. Which means I only have a few minutes to update this.

On the computer side, my floppy drive worked for a few minutes yesterday. Long enough to transfer my Web site files to a disk, which I brought to work and uploaded to my site, so you can see the changes now. The changes are small and the new pages still need some tweaking. The Welcome page and Bibliography are updated and the Appearance page is now. See it here. I still can’t FTP at home, not using Internet Explorer or a free trial version of SmartFTP.

I was 90 minutes late to work today. It wasn’t the school causing my son to be short on lunch money. Somebody has his account number. There are at least two other boys involved. I guess privately Alex told one of the people investigating the matter this morning that one boy was hitting him, then when all three boys were together Alex said the hitting didn’t really hurt. Alex says he didn’t give the account number to anyone and the two boys suspected claim they don’t have the number and have never used it; Alex says one of them told him he used it once. The stories kept changing during the meetings this morning. I don’t know what to think. But I do know Alex is having one of those “come-to-Jesus” meetings with me this evening. Unless he gets is butt kicked later today at school, which is probably the only thing that will come from my morning in the office.

That’s all for now. If I owe you e-mail, I haven’t forgotten you. Cheryl and HorrorWench, the books/magazines I promised to send went in the mail on Saturday so you should get them early this week. Everyone else, look for HorrorWench to offer those items in a contest sometime soon at Horror-Web.

  1. Thanks. Knew you wouldn’t forget me.
I feel terrible for Alex. I’m sure he’s too afraid to tell the truth of the entire matter in front of these boys. As far as Alex getting beaten up at school, the thought of it sickens me. Yes, we’ve all had our fights at school. I did. My kids did. I guess it’s a part of growing up. Words I said far too often, “…do what you like to me, but, no one touches my kids.” Maybe a meeting with the parents of the other two boys would help?
